Andrew C. Call is currently playing the enticing tough guy Andy, in the inaugural Broadway cast of "Glory Days." Andrew perfected his character as the intolerable and hypersexual second-rate jock in the original world-premier production at the Signature Theater in Arlington, Virginia, a non-paying role he won on reputation alone. Andrew received stunning reviews.
Andrew just finished doing double duty, performing in the ensemble of Cry Baby until previews of "Glory Days" began on April 22nd. "Glory Days" opens on May 6th at Circle in the Square Theater in NYC.
Born in Kansas, Andrew's family moved several times during childhood, finally settling in Rogers, Arkansas. In high school he willingly took up football and debate; he also reluctantly agreed to join choir at the insistence of his mother, who wanted him to be involved in some sort of art. Inspiration hit while watching a production of Les Miserables in drama class during his senior year. With only 4 football games left in the season, Andrew quit and drama took center stage. He earned a scholarship to Southwest Missouri State, but left a month before graduation to audition in NYC for a tour with Saturday Night Fever. Hard work, dedication and natural ability prevailed, and he was a Broadway caliber dancer in a short time.
After his one and a half year tour with Saturday Night Fever, Andrew returned to NYC but quickly shipped out to San Francisco to star in West Side Story. Upon his return, Andrew was called to do a last minute audition for the first National Tour of Altar Boyz. Cast as Luke in the hysterical musical about a religious boy band, he interrupted the tour after 4 months to be in the Off-Broadway production. Before returning to Altar Boyz for the second time Off-Broadway, Andrew did a short stint with the Off-Broadway production of High Fidelity.
Andrew has also appeared in productions of The Robber Bridegroom and Kiss of the Spiderwoman. His TV credits include Days of our Lives.
An avid golfer, Andrew's passions include his family and theater. He currently resides in New York City.
